By visiting Upper Quartile, and
- requesting a Sample Report and limited access to Upper Quartile data and/or making an application for a paid subscription and/or
- making an application for sponsored subscription and submitting details of your expected group sponsor and/or
- · making an application to become an Administrator or Sponsor of a Negotiated User Group and/or
- submitting to Upper Quartile the contact details of a third party,
you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.
What personal information about customers does Upper Quartile gather?
The information we learn from customers helps us personalise and continually improve your experience at Upper Quartile. Here are the types of information we gather.
- Information you give us
We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. This includes such things as your email address, name, personal address and details about the Holder of an Australian Financial Services License to whom you may be licensed and/or the group of users with whom you may share a sponsorship agreement with Upper Quartile. This information is used to ensure that the pricing and registration details of our subscribers are accurate and can be verified. We do not request or store your credit card details. All payments are made by Electronic Funds Transfer or by cheque.
- E-mail communications
To help us communicate with you, to provide the regular reports for which you subscribe from Upper Quartile and to inform you about developments in Upper Quartile technology, Upper Quartile sends email to customers.
- Upper Quartile will send information to you concerning its own business.
- In addition, Upper Quartile may elect to send you information from other organisations, for marketing or similar purposes. Upper Quartile does not provide, sell or otherwise release your email address to other organisations. This information will come to you directly from Upper Quartile and will only be done when Upper Quartile has satisfied itself that the information sent to you is for a legitimate and commercial purpose.
- Under the Anti Spam legislation, your subscription is a considered a positive "opt in" choice to Upper Quartile for the sending of Emails because this is the only way in which we can deliver the requested product and services.
Upper Quartile has an active policy of recognising your privacy. We maintain a high level of appropriate communications with subscribers and Licensee/Group Administrators, via email. In addition, we have a policy of distributing information about additional or ancillary services as part of our scheduled communications with you, which allows our subscribers to individually request or access those services, of their own initiative.
- Unsubscribing from Upper Quartile general email services
You may unsubscribe from the Upper Quartile email list at any time by using the Contact Us page on the Website and completing the form on that page. You will be removed within five working days of your request being received.
- Any subsequent request to access the graphing data or a free copy of the recent report will reinstate your address on our email list, as this is regarded as a positive 'opt in' choice
- You may also reply to any email received from Upper Quartile with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line.
Does Upper Quartile share the information it receives?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business. In order to enable our customers to get the most out of our services, we may pass on or sell certain data collected by us in providing the services to other organisations, including financial institutions, credit agencies and data management houses, as outlined above.
Occasionally, Upper Quartile will use information about site users to conduct statistical analyses.
- Business Transfers
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy various business assets. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, in the unlikely event that Upper Quartile is sold or substantially all of their assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.

How secure is information about me?
- We work to protect the security of your information at all times.
- Payments for the services delivered through our Website are made by Electronic Funds Transfer or cheque and your privacy is protected by your own banking facility.
- Your credit card number is never known to us.
- Your registration details and preferred email address are stored at an external secure site, for both the security of your personal details and to minimise any risks of communication failures. This information is backed up regularly, and stored in a secure environment, to ensure the integrity of our database and delivery of our agreed service.
