Upper Quartile is a unique and proprietary system that analyses the performance of managed investment funds over a range of fund types and time frames. The data is drawn directly from Morningstar and benchmarked against a number called the 'upper quartile factor' for its fund type. Upper Quartile publishes monthly, available by paid subscription. To request a free sample report complete the form on the right hand side of this page.
Free Access to Data
If you request a free sample report, you have free access to historical data, which allows you to graph the upper quartile factors in any desired combination from December 1999 forward. This data is absolutely invaluable for making historical performance comparisons. The detailed monthly reports (apart from the sample report) are available only to full subscribers. Simply complete the REQUEST FREE SAMPLE report form, in the box on the right hand side of this page.
Subscribers facilities
Subscribers have access to the monthly reports uploaded and retained for individual selection on the Website. These reports are a permanent library which can be retrieved time and time again. The reports are designed to be searched on-screen, for ease of reference. Better than any 'watchlist', they provide access to historical data that is not available in this format anywhere else.
What does "upper quartile" mean?
The "upper quartile factor" is used to determine which 25% of the same type of funds (in the total research base) have the better performances, on a twelve month Rolling Rate of Return, when compared one against the other in the same time frame and the same markets.
The strength and integrity of Upper Quartile Time Saving Funds Analysis is the depth and consistency of its database. Each report displays the number of funds included in the database, and the ranking attributed to any fund is based on the whole of the database, not just the individual funds published. The "Upper Quartile Factor" is the benchmark for ranking funds and its purpose is to provide accurate and timely peer rankings.
Each fund included in the report is ranked within its group using the full data base and the report shows its level of out-performance or under-performance, compared to the "Upper Quartile Factor" for that fund type.
